Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

In addition to Pediatricians, the Youth Clinic also employs seven Physician Assistants and one Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as part of their healthcare delivery team. Midlevels function much like Pediatricians in all of our offices. The Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner at the Youth Clinic have also trained specifically in Pediatric and Adolescent medicine.

Lorrie Kehemeier PA-C

Lorrie Kehmeier, P.A.-C joined the Youth Clinic in 1987. She attended Colorado State University and obtained her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Child Health from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Lorrie is licensed by the State of Colorado and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is an associate clinical professor at the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center.

Lorrie and her husband, Ken, have three children. Her free time is spent in family activities including gardening and camping.

Mary Baker PA-C

Mary K. Baker, P.A.-C joined the Youth Clinic in 1997. She is a native Coloradoan and received her Bachelor's Degree from Mesa State College and her certificate in Child Health from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Mary is licensed by the Medical Board of Examiners and certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.

Mary and her husband, Geoff, have one young daughter. They enjoy hiking, biking, running, and other outdoor activities.

Traci Hess PA-C

Traci Hess, P.A.-C grew up in Greeley and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She joined the Youth Clinic in 1998 after graduating from the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She is licensed by the State of Colorado and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Traci and her husband, Eric, have two young sons. She enjoys time spent with family and friends, traveling, taking walks and going to movies.

Chauna Scanga PA-C

Chauna Scanga, P.A.-C joined the Youth Clinic in 1999. She grew up in Wyoming and received her Bachelor's Degree from Colorado State University and her Certificate in Child Health from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Chauna is licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners and Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

Chauna and her husband, John, have two young sons. They enjoy their small farm and spending time with family.

Pam Riffe PA-C

Pam Riffe, P.A.-C grew up in Fort Collins and joined the Youth Clinic in 1999. She attended CSU and CU receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Medical Sciences and earned her certificate from the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Pam is licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Pam grew up in Fort Collins prior to returning to school Pam worked as a homemaker. She and her husband, Tom, have two grown children and two grandsons. Pam enjoys swimming, cycling, hiking, friends, and family.

Lindsay von Bernuth PA-C

Lindsay von Bernuth P.A.-C received her Master's Degree from Colorado State University. She attended the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center, graduating from the Physician Assistant program in 2002. Lindsay joined the Youth Clinic in 2006 after working as a Pediatric Physician Assistant in Westminster, Colorado. She is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the State of Colorado.

Lindsay and her husband, Kirk, have 2 young daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, sports, reading and traveling.

Jennifer Guernsey RN, MS, CPNP

Jennifer Guernsey, RN, MS, CPNP grew up in Fort Collins and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 2002. While working as a nurse at The Children's Hospital in Denver she attended the master's program at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, College of Nursing specializing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She also obtained her post-master's certificate from Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program. Jennifer is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Pracitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Jennifer started her career at a private pediatric practice in Cheyenne, Wyoming and joined the Youth Clinic in 2010.

Jennifer and her husband, Josh, stay busy raising their first child. She enjoys cooking, playing the piano, taking walks with her yellow lab, bike riding, hiking, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

Amanda Benedict PA-C

Amanda Benedict, P.A.-C grew up in Fort Collins and received her Bachelors in Sports Medicine from Anderson University in SC. Before joining the Youth Clinic in 2011, she was a Junior High and High School Science Teacher and Athletic Trainer. Amanda graduated from the University of Colorado Child Health/ Physician Assistant program. She is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the State of Colorado.

She and her husband, Josh, enjoy traveling, hiking, snowboarding, and playing ultimate frisbee.
